Features included in the Shapes Layer can be both edited and selected for further processing, use in a search, or to be deleted. In order to edit or select features in the Shapes Layer, be sure that Shapes is selected in the Active Layer Selector first.
To edit any feature in the Shapes Layer, hold down the shift key and click on the feature to activate it for editing. A red dashed bounding box will appear over the feature with arrow and box handles for scaling, moving, and rotating that feature. While holding down the shift key, click and drag on any of the arrow or box handles to scale, move, and rotate the feature. While holding down the shift key, click anywhere outside of the red dashed bounding box to finish editing.
Selecting (or deselecting) any feature in the Shapes Layer can be done by simply clicking on the feature. It is necessary to select features that are to be used as criteria in a occurrence search, or used with any of the processing tools.
